Do I need to see a Neurologist?

A Neurologist sees patients who have problems with their nervous system, this includes problems with the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles.
If you have neurological symptoms such as: headache, numbness, weakness, blackouts, dizziness, tremor, unsteadiness, and memory problems you may benefit from seeing a neurologist. For more details about consultations click here.

How do I book an appointment?

Where do you see patients?

How can I travel to my appointment?

Depending on which hospital your appointment is booked at, there are various ways you can travel to your appointment. For more details of the addresses, parking and how to travel to your appointment please click here.

Do you see children?

Dr Jayaseelan is an adult neurologist and therefore only sees children aged 18 years and above. We recommend that you see a paediatrician or paediatric neurologist if your child is under 18 years.

Can I have a virtual clinic appointment?

Yes, if you are currently living in the UK and would like a follow up appointment, you can have a virtual consultation on request at the time of booking. If you would like to have a virtual appointment please contact us.

How much does a consultation cost?

If you have health insurance your consultation fee may be covered by your insurance provider. You must check with your insurance provider prior to your appointment to confirm it will be covered. If you are self-paying for your appointment you can see the relevant fees here.

How can I pay for my consultation?

If you are self-paying or paying your insurance shortfall, you can pay for your consultation a number of different ways. You can pay at the appointment itself, by BACS transfer, or by credit card on the telephone or online.

We are able to take payments by telephone or online using Stripe which allows us to take any major UK credit card. Other methods may be possible on request.

Are the costs of investigations included in the consultation cost?

No, the consultation cost only covers your consultation time with Dr Jayaseelan. Any investigations are normally arranged by the hospital and are therefore subject to the hospital’s own charges. We will not book any investigations without prior discussion with you and will only suggest investigations if they are completely necessary for your diagnosis or management.

What happens if I need to cancel my appointment?

If you need to cancel or change your appointment please call or email us as soon as possible. This will allow us to make that appointment available to someone else who needs it. If you cancel with less than 24hrs notice you may still be charged for the consultation.
